There are 7 songs in Master Challenge. From 7.538 tiles/s until 8.000 tiles/s, Shostakovich's Spanish Dances plays, which is classified as an A major. From 8.000 tiles/s until 8.831 tiles/s, Bizet's Carmen Overture plays which is also an A major, making it fit with the previous song. At this point a live blue wallpaper starts to animate, changing to pink at 8.400 tiles/s. From 8.831 tiles/s until 9.595 tiles/s, an alternative, E major version of Joseph Kuffner's Polka plays (originally it is in C major). The E major Etude de Virtuosite in E by Moszkowski plays from 9.601 tiles/s until 10.129 tiles/s, which does explain why the previous song was set to E major. From 10.134 tiles/s until 10.448 tiles/s, Gioachino Rossini's William Tell Overture plays, which is again, in E major, making it fit with the previous two songs. From 10.453 tiles/s until 10.805 tiles/s, the 3-star section of Johannes Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5 plays. From 10.805 tiles/s until 11.245 tiles/s, Vittorio Monti's Csardas plays. At 11.245/s, the stage loops back to the beginning.

Difficulty of Gameplay[]

Foreshadowed at the beginning of the game, and holding a weekly reward for a reason, completion for the Master Challenge requires the hardest gameplay no other level or challenge of Piano Tiles 2 could ever require. To be at least good in this challenge, players have to know how to fully ace 9-10 tiles p/s, and have 11 tiles p/s as their limit. Like Christmas Rhapsody and Star Clock, this challenge has given struggle to several great players of the game like EK.

Difficulties given to beginners or players of this challenge include:

  • The altered gameplay of Carmen Overture.
  • The consecutive number of single tiles in Etude de Virtuosite in E.
  • The toughened gameplay of William Tell Overture consisting of only single tiles.
  • The confusing and more simple gameplay of Hungarian Dance No. 5.
  • The 24 consecutive double tiles of Csardas, having made the challenge insanely hard to pass.

The current world record is 15.321/2 by Robis, and the second WR is 15.260/s by Glory Yt.
